This past Saturday morning, my sweet sisters and a couple of sweet friends threw a baby "sprinkle" for Avery and me. (For those of you who aren't familiar with the idea of a baby sprinkle, it's basically just a lower key version of a baby shower for a 2nd [or 3rd, etc.] child since the mama likely already has most of the big stuff she needs from the first time around.) Amanda was in charge of the invitation and she cleverly incorporated the sprinkle theme with one of my current favorite foods: sprinkle donuts!
Isn't it cute, minus the horrible blur-editing I did to protect the innocent?
I really loved all the details they thoughtfully put into planning the party, from the festive name banner for Avery, to the adorable diaper cake, to the delicious food, to the yummy punch, to the super cute monthly stickers for Avery they put on display.
To prove that I thoroughly enjoyed myself, here are a few action shots of me that demonstrate my enthusiasm... especially the one Amanda so kindly took of me chowing down on my pink sprinkle donut. Hey, ain't no shame in my donut loving game!
I am super thankful for everything these girls (plus Katie, who sadly wasn't able to be there in person) and the guests did to make me feel celebrated, loved, and excited for baby Avery's fast approaching arrival.
Also, I want to point out that God's goodness is not lost on me when I think back to what I was doing on August 31st, 2012 (having a D&C performed after our miscarriage) versus how I got to spend the day this year (celebrating the life of our baby girl). What a difference a year can make... can I get an Amen?
