Over the long weekend after our families had left town, we found ourselves with some free time and I found myself with a rare (these days) burst of energy, so we took advantage and got to work on the nursery for Avery. Thankfully there really wasn't much to do in there since we were basically just taking everything we used for Davis and changing out some of the blues/greens for pink! (For a refresher, this is what it looked like for Davis.)
I am happy to say that with a scheduled delivery date of November 1st, Avery shouldn't be arriving for another 8 weeks... but in case she surprises us by coming even a tiny bit early (though we would prefer she didn't!), her room is now ready and waiting for her! Come take a look inside...
I was super glad that the bedding we used for Davis was still in stock and we only had to change out the crib bumper guard. As for changing out the decor on the walls, you may recall that I had a great time getting my craft on back in July to make the yarn wrapped letter "A" on the shelf above the crib and the cute owl picture above the changing table. And we did even more crafting over the weekend to make this baby mobile a little more feminine by getting rid of the blue shade and replacing it with a pink yarn wrapped sewing hoop. Hooray for handmade, personal touches that didn't cost us an arm and a leg!
Speaking of personal touches, I liked the name banner from the sprinkle so much that I decided to make a home for it (with some help from Wade) above her closet.
And moving on to the inside of her closet, we are very grateful that it is already stocked with lots of hand-me-down clothes (plus a few new things) and lots of diapers/wipes!
But one of my current favorite parts of her room is this: her coming home outfit that my mom gave us on display in the crib. It makes my heart happy to look in there and imagine our little lady wearing it in less than 2 months!
Believe it or not, we do still have some things left on our pre-baby checklist, but I'm glad to have this big one out of the way.
