In case you hadn't noticed based simply on the fact that I mention her in approximately 95% of my blog posts, my twin sister and I are pretty tight. It is rare that we go more than a few weeks at a time without visiting each other, and since the last time we were able to do that was over the holidays, we made a quick trip there this past weekend.
En route to their neck of the woods, we were able to make a pit stop in Navasota to see our friends Lauren and Drew and meet their sweet baby boy, Eli.
Wade + Davis, Drew + Eli, and Brian + baby who has not yet been conceived but hopefully will very, very soon
After a short, but fun visit with them, we made our way to Amanda and Brian's house for Davis to take a nap. When he woke up, we surprised him by taking him to one of the ponds in their 'hood to meet some friends and feed the ducks. As you will see from Exhibits A & B below, this "surprise" didn't turn out to be as pleasant for him as we had hoped.

Exhibit A: meeting the ducks and then flipping out after they stole his pacifier!

Exhibit B: giving the ducks another chance until being peer pressured by Daddy to feed them and then flipping out again at the prospect of that
After recovering from that fun outing, we returned home to enjoy dinner with their new raclette. If you will recall, last time we stayed with them, they made us a New Year's Eve feast that included some of our favorite things: chips & queso, sliders, sweet potato fries, and strawberry margaritas. This time they busted out some fancy machinery and made us feel like we were at Benihana. Last time they stayed with us, we barely scraped together enough ingredients to make them grilled cheese sandwiches.
I'd say they win in the hospitality department.

On Sunday, we really didn't do anything picture worthy before heading back to A-town. And even though our little getaway was brief, it was great to spend some quality time with a couple of our favorite peeps. Hope everyone else had a nice weekend as well!

What the heck is a raclette? Good grief. Way to make Davis scared of ducks...he's so close to achieving MY personal lifelong fear: birds. mine probably started out with episodes like this, too....beware, Davis! They ARE evil and they DO want to hurt you!
Davis is cute even when he's pissed... wish that was true for me! Also, we love grilled cheese, so we consider it a tie!
Hahaha... poor Davis and the ducks! His expression in those pics is priceless!! Loving the cheerio goatee as well. Little cutie. :)
I love getting to hang out with my sisters/best friends/those who we don't get to see enough! It recharges you! Glad y'all had fun!!
That raclette..I've never heard of that before. It looks real interesting!
Happy you got some quality time with the sister...and the ducks! His expression really is hilarious yet adorable at the same time!
